Improving Intimacy and Protecting Families from Pornography

This website is about to have a major upgrade and update in the next few weeks ... stay tuned!

The My House Initiative is devoted to helping married couples experience better intimacy and protecting families from pornography.  One of the best paths to stronger marriages, happier families, and more joy is a collection of new teachings on sexuality called the Theology of the Body, which is being called a "new sexual revolution."  This site contains encouraging testimonies, inspiring pictures, Theology of the Body resources and classes, internet accountability software, counseling resources, support groups, men's and women's ministries, and practical resources to protect families from pornography.

We are grateful for the courageous leadership of Archbishop Naumann, and the My House Video (on the right side of the screen) has been shown in nearly all of the 110 Churches in northeast Kansas during Mass. The video discusses pornography and contains an emotional testimony from a very brave man, positive words about human sexuality, and an inspiring call to protect families and strengthen marriages.  (Parents were given the option to take their children out of Mass during the video.)  It is an amazing time with many Church leaders presenting positive and encouraging teachings about sexuality, and giving practical resources and hope-filled testimonies to transform couples and families.

Pornography has created an epidemic of isolation and suffering in America and here are recent statistics.  Women often experience physical and emotional trauma while being filmed and photographed in pornography, and people are beginning to call the pornography industry the sexual exploitation industry. There is a great article called 10 Myths Exposed that exposes the surprising realities of pornography, which was written by a heroic woman who used to be in the pornography industry.

If you or someone you love struggles with pornography, you are not alone, and there is hope!  There are a variety of support groups, men's & women's ministries, counselors, spiritual directors, and other resources for long-term freedom.  Over 300 Catholic men in NE Kansas have been part of our My House Men's Recovery Groups in NE Kansas, and many have made significant progress for long-term freedom from pornography.  Many women benefit from attending our spousal support group that provides a safe place to process and heal from the effects of their loved one's pornography addiction, while growing in a new vision of love and sexual intimacy.  Our Support & Healing section has information on these groups, counseling options, and other groups and counselors for people outside of NE Kansas.

We pray that God's glorious plan for love and sexuality will continue to spread to other families, churches, and individuals.  We also pray that the thousands of people who are waiting to be rescued from the pornography industry will find hope and healing.  The My House Video and the My House Manual were sent to every U.S. diocese in 2007, and over 40 dioceses have been in contact for additional resources.  Though pornography and sexual brokenness are tearing apart millions of couples and families, the practical information on this site along with the new vision of sexuality are giving hope and joy to many.

Thank you for coming to this website, and God bless!
